The Harvest Has Begun!

Today I've started gathering more material to continue posting more cartoon drawings!

I'm not sure when I'll start posting since I only have about 11 drawings ready to be posted. I want to gather up at least nine more drawings to start posting, so hopefully it'll be soon.

Speaking of which, I went ahead and selected my favorite cartoon drawings that I've already posted and I'm giving them a sort of "HD remake," which is just a fancy way of saying that I'm putting them in Photoshop and redrawing them and coloring them so they'll look extremely pretty.

I have a lot more to get through, but I'm planning to post the pretty versions of these drawings on Tapastic under a new series. I'm not sure what to call the series just yet, but I'll announce more details once I have more completed; so far I only have two done, and this is the first one I've completed!

NEW Character Line-Up!

When I posted the "finalized" character line-up yesterday, I realized right away that it needed some changes in coloring and design.

So after working on changes/tweaks/adjustments in coloring and design, here is the final, final version of the line-up!

Differences include:

• An introduction to a new character! Kevin joins the line-up! His hairstyle was changed and a new costume change was given to him.
• Jake's got a new hairstyle that I can finally be happy about.
• Danielle's gone through another costume change, but only because I adjusted  her body shape a little more.
• Sally's sundress went through a bit of change.

Now I am extremely content with what I've worked on for the past several months!

Hopefully there won't have to be anymore changes anymore besides an occasional tweak every blue moon.

I'm just glad it's all done!

Design Upgrading Complete!

I am happy to announce that I've finally finished the design upgrades and color finalization of all the characters in the line-up!

More Design Progress

I'm getting really close to finalizing all (or at least 99%) of design upgrading and coloring. I hate to leave it in the dark for some time, so here's the finalized looks of some characters (that you've already seen a few times)

The design work on these characters are done. The newest one here is Sally in her cheerleader uniform. Her alternate clothing are done, but I'm keeping them out just in case I want to do some revision.
However, Daisy and Danielle aren't shown since I want to go back and do some focus on really finalizing their clothes and get a really good feel on them, making sure they fit their personality nicely.

As we all know, I'm having a hard time really finalizing a good look for Danielle (considering I proclaimed finalizing her clothing at least twice,) but it's getting there; for now I'm really focusing on Daisy.

Also, the coloring on all the characters are going great! Can't wait to show off the final looks!

The Bird is the Word (Updated Links Page)

At the start of this year, I thought it'd be a good to separate my personal social media accounts (some of which that go by "Doji Pocket") and split them, so that I may have a definite difference between my personal accounts and my Doji Pocket accounts.

With that said, I've created a Twitter account for Doji Pocket!

Also, I've created another tumblr blog that's more focused on my cartoons, drawings, animations, etc. Follow it here! dojipocketoons@tumblr. As for the first tumblr blog, I'm gonna make it more personalized for myself and give the "dojipocket" name to the tumblr blog linked above.

Hopefully with this kind of separation, I'll be able to run my own personal social media more freely and at the same run the Doji Pocket accounts strictly for my cartoons, drawings, etc. only, so it wouldn't be mixed with all of my other nonsensical interests.

I'll try to update the Page of Links with these links and arrange them accordingly within the next few days. The links to my personal social media accounts will no longer be in the page anymore, but you can still find them through the Doji Pocket pages if you just look hard enough.

Edit 2: The Page of Links has now been updated with all current links to my Doji Pocket social media! Now it has 200% more humor than ever before!
Expect some of the social media pages to be treated and updated differently since I tend to use some social media pages more than others.

Upcoming Things and Stuff

Alright, here's what I've been doing/thinking about lately:

• As of right now, I'm very close to completing upgrading all the character's clothing, so look forward to seeing the final, final designs, coloring, and such. Hopefully, I can dream that this is the last time that I'll make major costume changes.
• I'm thinking about launching a new series on Tapastic, however it's just going to be reposts of those cartoon drawings I've posted. The only difference is that they'll all (or most of them) will be redrawn and nicely colored in Photoshop so they'll look nice and pretty rather than just pictures I took on my phone.
• I'm tinkering around with the idea of redesigning the Austin and Jennifer characters and just completely redrawing all 15 strips so they'll look better and more presentable. Maybe, just maybe.
• I've gone back and drawing some stuff in the black sketchbook, so hopefully I'll be able to collect more humorous cartoon drawings and comic strips for another huge wave of cartoon drawings.

That's about it for now.

Oh yeah, I'm trying to make a new animated video. It's kind of in a limbo since I'm kind of lazy to push forward, but it has been awhile since I made an animation.

A Paid Commission?!

I'd never thought I'd be offered to do a paid commission in my life, but it happened.

What a way to start 2016!

A friend of mine called me to action, which was to create a banner for his social media (primarily for his Twitter and Twitch) that required to have a caricature of him and links to his Twitter and Twitch. We discussed and such, and I showed him early on what direction I was thinking about going to, and he loved it.

It took me some hours on Friday to start and figure out how things will look and be composed, and from 12 to about 3:30AM to finish off the rest on Sunday (or Monday, since it was after midnight.)

He totally loved the end result, which is seen here:

I was going to block out his social media links, but whatever. Hooray for free advertising!

As for pricing, I'm not entirely sure what to charge. I'll edit this post once I figure it out, but for now I'm just totally stoked that I did my first paid commission!

Another Character Upgrade Done!

I've managed to finish another character redesign and this time I'd like to share what I've produced. One of the characters I've been working on lately was the goth girl in the cast, Mandy. She's already gone under a fair amount of changes prior to this particular redesign.
Before, she's had a extremely basic appearance.

Now let me say this: when I started these redesigns for all these characters, I've had to pay attention to fashion; I've downloaded/browsed tons of photos and pictures for references, capturing some little aspects here and there, and trying to work them into the designs of the other characters. That whole process was totally fun and all, but keep in mind that for the other characters in this group, they all dress fairly normal. Nothing to crazy or out there, to be honest; they're all normal people.

But when it came to work on Mandy, I had no idea Gothic fashion was this really crazy, interesting kind of fashion sense. I actually enjoyed kind of studying the look since a lot of it seemed like it was a costume of sorts, which is what I was rolling with.

At the end, it went from a very basic and simple look to, well, this:

It's totally a major revamp!
The dress design is based primarily off of one dress I found that I thought would be perfect; everything else is a mix of little bits and pieces of other Goth-related fashion and such, like, the triangle piercing, that weird make-up thing underneath her eye, that black collar, a skull belt buckle, and the steel-toe-looking boots.
With the dress color, I used like three different variants of black and darkened the shade of purple. I like to see you try and spot which blacks are different.
In terms of physical appearance, I just darkened her hair and used a lighter skin tone. I'm still playing with the skin tone here, so that's not set yet.

Came out very Gothic, right?

Now Entering 2016!

It's here! It's finally here! The year we've been waiting for all year!

So long 2015! Hello 2016! It's finally here! A fresh new year filled with promises of new experiences, friendships, and promises that is just waiting for us ahead!

And look! Danny is back to celebrate the arrival of this great new year!

Happy New Year everyone! May this 2016 be a hell of a lot better than boring ol' last year!
