Cul-De-Sac of the Decade - New Title/Logo

Some number of posts ago, I made a post talking about my upcoming future projects that are currently in the works. My mind's thinking about several different projects and ideas at once so it's been a bit difficult to focus on one thing at a time.

However, I have a small update on one of those projects. I've mentioned before that I'm currently doing a study on the 20th century (at this time, I'm currently in the 1970s); the study's purpose is to basically study the fashion of each decade in the century so I'll have a good foundation on how to start creating and designing the characters for the series.

The project, previously named "Cul-De-Sac of the Decade," is now officially named "20th Century Blvd!" Along with the new finalized title is a logo I've created to go along with it!

It's funny how I have a title and logo ready to go, but I have zero clue on what do to for the characters and plot. This is the exact opposite situation I had with Propinquity! Lovely!

New Shoe Designs!

I've recently became self-aware of the fact of how I draw my characters' shoes, which are basically like this half circle look. After recently bumping up the costume design of all my characters, I've noticed that the shoe design for everyone is lacking.

For the last month or so, I've done a small study on shoes and the many different designs they have; I'm still kind of studying their designs/colors right now, but I've started implementing what I've learned onto small selection of my characters, which I'm currently expanding on.
This is noticeable on the recently redesigned characters, Austin and Jennifer. They don't have the typical kind of footwear I usually put, but rather they have designed out sport shoes and simple sandals, respectively!

I'm slowly doing the same to the Propinquity line-up right now, but here's a sneak peak of the changes I'm planning to set:

In this case, Sally's shoes went from the usual basic half circle design everyone has to something that suits her more with who she is and what she does, which in this case is cheerleading. In this case, I've set her up with white athletic shoes that cheerleaders typically wear.

Small Edit to the A&J Line-Up

I made a small design change especially for Jenny.

I've wanted to give Jenny's shirt a plaid design right from the beginning of the redesign, but was unable to at the time. Now it looks way more complete and better overall!

Short Doodle Series

I'm gonna be honest here, I have nothing else to post here.

It's not that I'm not drawing or anything; I'm busy with school stuff and I'm developing other stuff. One of these new things I'm working on is a project about the 20th century!

I'm currently doing a study on people/fashion of the century; I've posted a few pictures of those drawings on my personal social media, and I figured that to prevent this blog from dying, I've decided to post the 20th century study drawings here!

And of course, I'm gonna stretch it out by post each decade at a time.

Look out for them!

Dakota Doodles

I have a couple doodles that I'd like to put out there of the new Propinquity character, Dakota. I know it's been some time since I first introduced him, and honestly I haven't done much with him since I added him to the line-up. As mentioned, I'm currently taking a break from working on Propinquity and 2422 to work on other projects.

However, I had these two doodles stored in my files and I just felt like sharing them

As you can see, he looked pretty different then. I was gonna show him off like this too; that's the bottom drawing was for. Obviously I didn't reveal him until recently and I'm glad I held that off. I'm totally gonna recycle that sweater for some other character though.

Upcoming Projects

When I started this blog, I wanted a place to share and freely discuss my ideas and projects with an audience. I was afraid to initially once I started, but I have been open about my stuff recently, talking about new developments, characters, stories, and whatnot.

Today, I like to show a preview of what I'm currently working on!

I'm currently taking a break from working on Propinquity and Class of 2422 to work on other projects I've had in the back of my mind.

As you know, I'm currently retooling Austin & Jennifer and its revival at the moment which is extremely exciting for me since it's going along so well.

Soon I'll talk more on the other four unrecognizable titles on this list. It's just a small sneak peak of other works I'm looking forward to develop and share.

Be warned however, it may be a very long time until I bring up these other projects up again.
