I don't remember if I've mentioned this before, but for 2017 I gave myself the hefty goal to create three animated videos within the year. Obviously, I never hit that goal; the one animated video I started last year ended up being completed and posted early this year (Life-Saving Facts.)
Looking back, creating an animated video really does take a ton of time, which is difficult to achieve while still going to school as a full-time student. Plus, it had been awhile since I'd done animating when I started "Life-Saving Facts." As a result, I wasn't too happy with how that video came out because I know I could have done better.
I've decided back in December 2017 that for the next year, instead of doing hefty projects like full animated videos, I'll do monthly character animation practices instead. I figured they're not that heavy in workload and at the same time, I can hopefully improve my animation skills, something I've really wanted to do for some time now.
I know it's late in February, but I just started the first character animation piece for the month; hopefully I can finish as much as I can before the month is up. I started late because I'm still trying to get used to the semester right now. I figured whatever animation I have done at the end of the month I'll post anyways.
See ya at the end of the month! Hopefully sooner!
I'm close to finishing the redrawing of the Propinquity line-up!

Lucina Illustration (Inktober)
Recently, I completed an illustration of Lucina, a character from the video game series "Fire Emblem!." Here's the final illustration along with the Inktober drawing.
As seen above, I created this drawing of this character initially for Inktober of 2017. After October ended, I tasked myself to go back to pick some of my favorite ink drawings. I wanted to spend my November of 2017 redrawing and coloring my favorite drawings digitally.
This Lucina drawing was the first one to start that process; however, this one was a weird case. I started this digital illustration in October 2017, and it was a long, frustrating process since I was being such a perfectionist and I was experimenting with different styles and coloring processes.
After many many weeks (and probably months), I finally decided last week to completely redo the artwork. Funny enough, after restarting the drawing, it only took just two days to complete the art above the Inktober drawing.
One of the main reason this Lucina drawing was the first one in a line of a handful of chosen favorites to redrawing/color digitally was because my cousin really likes this particular character, and I sort of took it as a commission unofficially.
I even make two prints of the finished artwork! One for him and one for myself! I normally don't do prints for my artwork at all, so those prints could be considered pretty "rare" since there's only two in existence...unless I make more prints, though it's highly unlikely.
Be on the look out for more remastered Inktober drawings soon!

Happy Heart Holiday!
One of Danielle's favorite holidays is Valentine's Day, so she was the perfect choice for this year's Valentine drawing!
Personally, I like the sound of "Happy Heart Day," but saying "Happy Heart Holiday" gives me some alliteration points. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Pitch Posters
For the Advanced Illustration this semester, we had to pitch a story concept and create a poster to show along with our pitch presentation. If approved, I'd have the chance to lead a group into developing the story and creating a finished product.
Unfortunately, both story concepts that I pitched to the class didn't fly with the class.
Oh well, more creative control for me on these ideas!
Here's the two pitch posters created for the presentation!
The premise for Captain Neo is essentially an anti-superhero story. The protagonist dresses up as a cartoon superhero that fights evil aliens and defends Earth. Soon, a group of aliens "invade" Earth and capture "Captain Neo."The concept for this one is about an over-the-top arrogant villain that isn't taken seriously by everyone. Soon, he becomes tasked by a powerful mafia boss to pull off the biggest, most expensive theft ever known: the theft of the priceless Blue Diamond.

New Video! "Life-Saving Facts!"
Hey everyone! I'm glad to finally announce that my most recent animated video "Life-Saving Facts" is now up and live online on my YouTube channel!
It's been forever since I've last uploaded a video and animated something! I hope my rustiness doesn't show through.
The video is based off of a comic strip I wrote (as usual), taking the concept of teachers always declaring that their focus of education will be useful one day another step forward to a life-or-death situation.
Be sure to check out the video!
