Name Swappin'

Hey, remember this old post I made? And this post as well?

These two posts I made is where I sort of detailed a new character named Dakota.
He was initially going to be a quiet, bookworm sort of character in the series.

Change of plans: he's cut. He's gone. He's no longer in this cast.
I was gonna reveal that when I post the next updated iteration of the Propinquity character line-up, but oh well.

With his character gone, I decided to rename one of the oldest characters I've created "Dakota." It's kinda weird to call this old existing character by this new name after many years of them going by another name. Who the renamed character in question is, I'll detail that when the updated line-up is finished and posted.

I just sort of wanted to throw this out here in the open internet air, and to break this silence that this blog has.

I'm currently trying to finish an animated video, if anyone's wondering.

Character Doodles for "Mr. Ridiculous"

Remember awhile ago I made this post talking about a new series idea I had? The idea about a ridiculous villain? Well today, I wanted to show a page from my sketchbook with some doodles of the three main characters.
Of course, I've done a ton of drawings exploring the design of these characters, but I wanted to show where I'm at right now. The design are not finalized yet, but I like the direction where I'm going with.
At the bottom is the main character, Mr. Ridiculous. In the middle of the page is Fish Hooks, and on the upper page is Jumbo. I've been drawing these characters like this for awhile now; I'll be sure to post for drawings/design progress from now on. I'll get into the personalities of each character later.

Looking forward to how this idea will turn out with further development!

Short Hiatus

A couple of days ago, my drawing tablet stopped working.

Definitely not because of me I swear ha ha nope I had nothing to do with it ha ha

Anyways, I just ordered another tablet (same exact type); I would have taken this opportunity to upgrade to a new tablet, but I'm a bit short on funds right now. I am planning on upgrading to a new tablet later in the year, whether it's an Intuos tablet or maybe a Cintiq. I'm personally hoping I can upgrade to 13HD Cintiq; my college has spoiled me with their Cintiq lab.

I have a ton of projects I really want to do/finish before my next semester starts up, which is at the end of this month. I'm really hoping that I can at least finish my animation video and the updated character line-up for Propinquity.

I'm also looking to go through every post on this blog and adding labels so it would be easier for me or future generations to go through specific posts.

It shouldn't be a long hiatus, but now I can take this opportunity to somewhat fix my sleep schedule. I really ought to.

Illustration Class's Final Project - Theme Park Design

I'd like to take this post to go ahead and "declassify" materials from my final project in my Illustration class from the previous semester.

The final project was theme park design; we had to group up with other people and create our own ride concepts and work together to create a theme park with a certain theme in mind. In our case, our group was tasked to create a theme park based on Doctor Who.
I had a ton of fun on it since I'm already a fan of the show. Plus, this gave me a good excuse to go back in binge-watch the show.

Here's a few of the materials I created
Here's the logo I created for the park
I even came up with the name for the park, though I can't help but think that I heard the term "Whoniverse" somewhere. Maybe somewhere on tumblr? I can't remember.

Next is the poster I created for my ride concept
My ride, titled "Race to the Tardis," is heavily based on the Indiana Jones Adventure ride at Disneyland, which is one of my favorite rides. It takes the riders throughout the adventures of the 9th, 10th, and 11th Doctors with many run-ins with several enemies, primarily the Daleks. I was glad to hear that my instructor really enjoyed my ride concept a lot!

Now, I already posted all the materials on here onto my social media pages, but one thing I'll share on here that I couldn't really share with ease is the storyboard that I created for my ride. I'll post a Google Drive link for the storyboard below

Back to the TARDIS - Ride Storyboard

That's all I have to share regarding this project! At least my end of the group; my other group members have also created a ton of cool materials regarding this group assignment! I kinda enjoy doing collaborative work! I wish I did more of that for my own personal works.

Maybe I'll share my final assignment for my Advanced Storyboarding class later!
